Frequently Asked Questions

Everything procurement and engineering teams ask before placing an order.

What information should I send for a quotation?+

Please send drawings, material grade, quantity, surface treatment, tolerance requirements, destination country and any inspection or certificate requirements. Photos or samples can help when drawings are incomplete.

What products are most suitable for Leading Top Union?+

Heavy steel fabrication, large CNC machined structures, wind power components, battery enclosure structures, industrial safety grating and bulk steel sourcing are the core directions.

What materials do you work with?+

Common materials include Q235, Q355, S235, S355, S690, stainless steel 304/316, aluminium alloys, Hardox wear plate and various alloy steels. Material substitution advice is available when requested.

What welding standards do you work to?+

We work to ISO 3834-2 for fusion welding quality requirements and EN 1090 EXC2/EXC3 for structural steel execution. Welding procedure specifications and welder qualification records are available on request.

Do you accept DXF, STEP or IGES files?+

Yes. We accept DXF, DWG, STEP, IGES, PDF and SolidWorks formats. If only a sketch or photo is available, our engineering team can assist with drawing preparation before quotation.

Can you handle large or heavy parts?+

Yes. Our gantry milling machines handle parts up to 6 metres in length. Structural assemblies up to 50 tonnes per unit have been completed. Lifting, transport and packing plans are prepared for oversized items.

What surface treatments can you provide?+

We offer hot-dip galvanizing, powder coating, epoxy painting, sandblasting to Sa2.5, zinc-rich primer systems and bare mill finish. Surface treatment requirements should be stated in the drawing or order specification.

How do you control dimensional accuracy?+

We use Zeiss CMM for precision parts, laser trackers for large structures, and calibrated measuring tools throughout production. Inspection records and dimensional reports are included in the handover package.

Can you provide NDT reports?+

Yes. UT, MT, PT and RT testing can be arranged depending on the weld class and project specification. NDT is performed by qualified personnel and reports are issued with the shipment documents.

Can you support material certificates?+

For qualified orders, material certificate requirements can be planned before production. Please state whether you need original mill certificates, heat number traceability, MTC 3.1 style documents or project-specific certificate formats.

Do you support third-party inspection?+

Yes, inspection by SGS, TUV, BV or other appointed agencies can be arranged when it is included in the order scope and inspection plan.

What is your typical lead time?+

Lead time depends on complexity, quantity and current capacity. Simple fabrications can ship in 2–3 weeks. Complex structural assemblies or large CNC machined parts typically require 4–8 weeks. We confirm lead time at quotation stage.

What is your minimum order quantity?+

There is no fixed minimum for fabricated parts. For safety grating and commodity steel, minimum order quantities depend on the product type and are confirmed at quotation. Sample orders are accepted for grating products.

Can I start with a sample?+

For safety grating and selected sheet-metal items, samples are useful for checking thickness, anti-slip pattern, coating and packing quality before larger orders. Visit our sample pack page to request one.

Can you help with export packing?+

Yes. Export packing, rust prevention, lifting protection, container loading photos and packing lists can be planned according to the size, weight, destination and transport method.

Can you manage the full supply chain from steel to delivery?+

Yes. We source raw materials, manage fabrication, surface treatment, inspection and export packing in-house or through qualified partners. A single point of contact handles the order from drawing to delivery.

How do you reduce overseas assembly problems?+

We focus on drawing review, welding sequence, stress relief where needed, datum control, machining precision, trial inspection, packing protection and complete handover records.

How do you handle design changes during production?+

Design changes are managed through a formal revision process. We confirm the impact on cost, lead time and any completed work before proceeding. Clear revision records are maintained throughout the project.

What payment terms do you accept?+

Standard terms are T/T bank transfer with a deposit before production and balance before shipment. L/C at sight is accepted for larger orders. Payment terms are confirmed at quotation stage.

How do I get started?+
